The lab has multiple projects that examine the metagenome and individual microbial genomes. We are seeking applicants to fill 3 post-doc positions with funding from various projects in the lab, including NIH, FDA, and industrial partners:
Computational informatics – This position will focus on assembly, annotation, and mining of biomarkers in bacteria associated with host/microbe interactions. The successful candidate will require demonstrated skills in coding, large-scale data management, and data integration.
Bioinformatics and data mining – This position will focus on large-scale data submissions to NCBI, data mining, and use large scale data handling. Coding is an advantage, but must be willing to learn specific scripting and have knowledge of multiple commercial informatics packages.
Bioinformatics for multi-omics data integration – This position will focus on bridging genomics with metabolomics. The ability to create metabolic reconstruction and integrate with multiple -omics technologies across many areas of science – from cancer to environmental microbes.
Staff research associate l – Actively participate in microbial genomics
All positions require the ability to conduct independent research and tasks coupled with excellent oral and written communication skills that are demonstrated with publications and presentations.
